Our Paediatric First Aid Course
This paediatric first aid course meets the requirements of the Early Years foundation stage statutory framework, NCMA (National Child Minders Association), Ofsted, QCF/NVQ in childcare and education and the Pre-School Learning Alliance. The course focuses on emergency scenarios that are faced by professionals, including teachers, au pairs, Child minders and playgroup leaders, looking after babies and young children under the age of 8 years. It meets Ofsted requirements for registered childminders and the requirements for nannies under the Approved Carers Scheme. It can also be used as evidence for employees working towards a QCF/NVQ in Childcare and Education.
Who should attend?
This course is for people working with younger children, those up to 8 years old, or working towards an QCF/NVQ in Childcare and Education. The qualsafe paediatric first aid consists of:
- first aid kit
- action planning
- treatment of an unconscious casualty
- asthma and diabetic emergencies
- head injuries
- sprains, strains and fractures
- poisoning, bites and stings
- foreign objects
- childhood conditions (e.g. measles, meningitis, croup)
How long is the training course?
The course will take two days (12hrs)
What is the test like?
Continuous assessment by our trainer, plus one multiple choice exam
When do I get my results?
Results on the day before you go home, each learner gets a certificate (3 Years) plus a plastic card for the learners purse/wallet and A5 colour first aid book on successful completion of the course
