BIIAB Level 2 National Certificate for CCTV Operators (Public Space Surveillance)
 

The BIIAB Level 2 Certificate for CCTV Operators (Public Space Surveillance) will form part of the requirement needed to gain an SIA Licence to Practice. 

This nationally recognised qualification is the industry standard and enable a CCTV operative to apply for a licence to practice.

Course Content

The BIIAB Level 2 NCCCTV is a recognised qualification and consists of two units:

Unit 1 CCTV Control Room Operation- Principles

• Introduction, Roles and Responsibilities
  
• Codes of Practice, Operational Procedure and Guidelines
  
• Control Room Communications and Access Control
  
• Legislation
  
• Dealing with Incidents
  
• CCTV Surveillance Techniques
  
• Fire and Emergency Procedure
  
• Health & Safety at Work
  

Unit 2 CCTV Control Room Operation- Practices

• Operating CCTV Equipment
  
• Use of CCTV control room communication equipment
  
• Implementing CCTV surveillance techniques
  
• Identify the legislation and legal framework when operating CCTV systems for information storage

Knowledge and Practical-based Training and Assessment (30 hours)

The qualification provides candidates with the right to work within the CCTV (public space surveillance) industry, it also provides candidates with the basic knowledge and understanding of the industry.

 How long is the training course? 

The course will take 15 hours per unit, including the two examinations, Total 30 hours and is offered by us for the cost of £395 plus vat. Includes all exams, and certificates for the four days training. 

What is the test like?

There are is one examinations for unit one.

This has a multiple-choice question paper and will take one hour. Plus you will have a practical assessment that is carried out in a live CCTV control room.

When do I get my results? 

Normal practise with us is that we tell you the next day if you have passed and give you your code. This enables you to send for your SIA license straight away.
